Germaine Alexakis and Theodore Athanasiadis are creators of Views of Greece, the most complete travel archive and image bank specialized in travel and tourism reportage exclusively about Greece.
They are born and live in Athens. Being members of the Union of Photojournalists and Press Photographers of Greece (U.P.P.P.G.), they have worked as photojournalists (free lancers) for more than twenty years now.
Although both graduates of Athens University of Economics & Business(Business Administration dpt.), their love for the art of photography dominated soon their already successful careers. Their field research in Greek land and their deep knowledge of its life, even in its most secret parts, along with their honest approach to the reader, have established their point of view as one of the most reliable and popular among the editors -in- chief of the Greek travel press.
Their work has been published since 1990 in the most well-known Greek magazines and newspapers:
Travelling magazine, the inset E of Eleftherotypia newspaper, 4wheels magazine. Auto Motor und Sport, Autotriti, Quattroruote magazines, the annual edition TOURING since 1994.
For more than ten years a constant presentation in Geotropio of Eleftherotypia newspaper, in the monthly inset Taxydromos of Ta Nea newspaper and in the monthly Vita magazine (Lambrakis Journalistic Organization). Since 2009 in the monthly inset Explore Nature magazine and weekly Travel of Ethnos newspaper. In 2007 in the touristic guide series Traditional settlements inset of the Imerisia newspaper. From Dec 2010 and on in the inset Travels and Eco of Kathimerini newspaper while next year a new collaboration begun with the weekley Athens News newspaper published in English. Since Dec 2010 their articles have been also found in Real Escape magazine, inset of Real News newspaper and additionally in the weekly Proto Thema since March 2011.
They have also published the first and the second volume (2004 and 2005 respectively) of their own guide series Unknown travelling destinations, named "Live in the most beautiful mountainous villages of Greece" (in Greek). Views of Greece has also participated in tourism promotion through internet during Athens’ Olympic Games of 2004, presenting many places from all over the country on Athens’s News Agency (ANA-MPA) website.
Germaine has attended seminars in Quality improvement, Effective teambuilding, Web designing and is an excellent user of Greek, English and a good user of French language. She is also a member of the Hellenic Society of the Protection of Nature that is a non governmental organization.
Through his work Theodore supports many non governmental environmental organizations such as MOm, Arktouros environmental centre, Hellenic Ornithological Society. He is also planning special off-road itineraries by car in countryside and with his excellent knowledge of Greek province he supports four wheel drive or motorbike missions of promotional campaigns for several automobile magazines and other groups.
